Angela & I would like to welcome you to our first ever blog. This is new to us, so bear with us. For those of you that do not know, Angela and I have been in the adoption process for some time now. We started in the domestic side and recently decided to look into International Adoption. After looking into agencies, we settled on Adoption Advocates International (AAI) in Washington state. We have chosen to adopt a child from Thailand! By the way, the title to this posting is Thai for Hello Everyone. Since we had already processed for a domestic adoption, the paperwork process will not be as difficult or time consuming as it normally would be. In addition, we found out that our domestic agency, LCFS, works with AAI, so we do not have to redo our homestudy! Their website for that program is http://www.adoptionadvocates.org/thailand/thailand_process.php
We have been told to expect a 12-18 month wait. We are open to children with minor special needs and will most likely receive a boy. The children are typically older (2 years) by the time they come home. Once we receive a referral for a child, within 3-5 months, Angela and I will be traveling to Bangkok, Thailand to pick them up, go before the adoption board, and bring them home. We will be in country for at least 10 days.
In the meantime, we will be updating you throughout the process and hope that you enjoy this and maybe even learn something along the way. We are also looking into learning some of the language, since we have some time. If anyone has any tips, please let us know.
We are extremely excited to have been blessed to be able to do this. We are also so blessed to have such great support from friends and family from all over the country. Please begin praying for our child. Although we do not know who he/she is, we know they are out there somewhere.
Check back frequently for updates!

I can't wait to meet him or her and I wish you all the best as you continue in this journey! Thank you for keeping us posted! We keep you in our prayers, and we know that you will be wonderful, wonderful parents! We love you!
We, also, can't wait to meet our new niece or nephew. We are so happy that God is providing this way for you and that you have chosen to go on this adventure with Him. We all wait in anticipation with you!
Love you both! Uncle Shane, Aunt Barb, John, Raelynn and Grace
Congratulations and God bless both of you (and baby Kull) as you truly take the "road less traveled" to give a child a wonderful home with loving parents.
I am so excited for y'all! I have another nephew, Stephen, who has a Thai mother and an American father and he was too beautiful as a baby to be called handsome and is too handsome as a young adult to be called beautiful. Guess what! I guess I'm going to be a great-aunt!! I'll start crocheting a crib afghan for y'all as soon as you tell me what color. Although mint green is a good color for most complexions.
I emailed a friend who lived in Thailand for a while and he sent me a website for Thai words. I'll forward you the email.
Love you both,
Luetta
Wishing you both all the best as this journey unfolds! Nate
Words can't express how excited we are for both of you and for us right now. You will be bringing us our first grandchild!(unless Virginia has plans that we don't yet know about!). Dad and I know what you have gone through and we are so very proud of the man and woman who will one day hold their new child in their arms. We pledge our love and support to you, no matter how long the adoption process takes, for we know that this will happen in God's perfect timing.

Hi Stephen and Angela!
It's Maegan (from Stephen's high school). I just wanted to say congrats to you both. Adoption is an awesome thing and I know that you will give some child a wonderful life that it may not have had otherwise. Get ready for parenthood!
This is wonderful.
You have picked a great country from which to adopt. The people are lovely even though many our quite poor. It has developed a lot in the past 20 years.
I've spent time in Thailand on three different occassions starting 89 while working on my Master's Degree.
From everything I've just read on your blog, you are going to be terrific parents.
I'll be sending you positive thoughts. I live my live by saying, "What's good about it." What you are doing certainly is.
